For the Itasca Community

Nova Pup’s Run Through Itasca is an homage to the beautiful city of Itasca, Illinois but more about the people who make it shine. As a writer, I had a million ideas and shoutouts I wanted to cram into the book, but I had to take a step back and focus on what I wanted readers to experience. I wanted readers to see their town illustrated. There’s one simple quest - to get a puppuccino.

Daily schedules are sometimes so nonstop that we can forget to appreciate what is around us. A delicious treat from Kean’s Bakery, dinner from Tree Guys Pizza-Pub, a stroll through Usher Park can help us slow down and enjoy ourselves.

The charm surrounding Itasca, Illinois is not an accident. In my time living in Itasca, I loved walking to get a morning coffee before hopping on the Metra to the city. I appreciated having breakfast, lunch and dinner options all within walking distance from one another. During the summer, we soaked up the sun at the Itasca Waterpark. I worked on Nova Pup’s Run Through Itasca at the Itasca Community Library. Being around the buzz and liveliness of this city is delightful.

I’m grateful to be able to share Nova Pup’s Run Through Itasca and look forward to meeting more of the Itasca community through this adventure.
